Conference Confessions

Well, you may be wondering why I haven't been updating my blog.  Well, I lost my notes.  I was contemplating trying to finish without them, but ... my memory isn't what it use to be.  Lucky for me I found them yesterday.  Lucky for you I couldn't fall asleep tonight for some weird reason.  So, to keep this short I am going to clump the last four talks all together.
  • When we do the right thing for the wrong reason, it steals God's glory.
  • The Cross will touch the thing that is the most important in my life.  I took this as Christ not only wants but persists that I give up rights to what is the most important in my life.  I use to wonder if I loved God more than Joel.  Now, I know where my true strength comes from, but sometimes I still need reminded.
  • Hope is a noun in the New Testament (we have a living hope or confident expectation), not a verb (I hope...)
  • Allow God to shake your life, so that the things that need to be diminished will be shaken away.  My flesh wants my life to be as stable as possible.  I despise how much I dislike being shaken and uncomfortable, and yet I love it when the things that need to be diminished are shaken away.  The battle between the flesh and the Spirit is hard, but we serve a powerful God!!
There is so much I didn't cover.  I encourage you to listen to the CD's.  If you can, listen to all of them in a fairly short period of time as they do build on each other.  I pray they will bless your life as they have mine.
